I'm knitting the Irish Hiking Scarf in black Mission Falls 1824. It's a Christmas gift for my DH. Free pattern and nice yarn...I'm liking it a lot! I'm also going to try fingerless mitts with the same cable!

I absolutely second the Irish hiking scarf. I've seen it done in a dozen different yarns and it always looks great. I did it in a bulky 'mystery' yarn from my stash for Rick. He loves it, and best of all it was actually a pretty quick knit. Hooray for bulky yarn.
